Let's keep our community connected, safe and strong.
A Message from President Jim Booker

"By choice, PMRA members reside in one of the most relaxing and entertaining environments on Earth. However along with nearly 7.8 billion fellow humans we face some of the most challenging circumstances I’ve ever experienced. I feel that likening Covid-19 to a global wartime enemy is appropriate.

Advice from Professor Hugh Montgomery

There are well-known threats to life and livelihood. Your best kit to face this enemy is knowledge. I strongly recommend that everyone becomes very familiar with the (daily updated) Federal Govt. Covid-19 website

 https://www.health.gov.au
Knowledge acquired from this site will empower you, relieve anxiety and ensure the quickest and best outcome.
We will soon celebrate a VH (Victory for Humanity) Day."

Grumpy Old Men’s Shed
Port Mandurah resident Gary Brown has announced that his new Men's Shed in Park Road is now fully equipped, and he is inviting expressions of interest from the community to form an incorporated association so that the shed can be insured for future use.
If you'd like to get involved, please email Gary at rgar4555@bigpond.net.au.
Until someone can come up with a better name, the shed will be known as the Grumpy Old Men's Shed!

This is celebrated on the last Sunday in March every year with the aim of building better relationships with the people who live around us, especially the elderly, lonely and vulnerable.
The theme for Neighbour Day 2020 is Social Connection.
Neighbour Day brings together like-minded people, resources and organisations to grow stronger, well-connected communities.
~
Social distancing and self-isolation will increase loneliness for those who live alone, so if you know someone who may be missing social contact, why not give them a call to see how they are?
Or make contact with a neighbour by using one of these calling cards.

The following events have been postponed until further notice:

First Aid Demonstration on 27th March

Clean Up Samphire Cove on 29th March

Distribution of the Port Mandurah History Book

Please keep an eye on our website and our Facebook page for updates.

Coronavirus Pandemic

COVID-19 is now in Mandurah, so please stay at home until the danger of infection has passed.
Thank you to those of you who have sent us your news, tips, jokes and stories.
It's astounding how many of us have already been impacted by this virus in one way or another.
If you're keeping a journal or thinking of writing a memoir, you can pick up some great tips from this video courtesy of Mia Lacy.
The most alarming story we've heard is about a Port Mandurah couple currently on a cruise on the Costa Victoria heading straight for Italy.
We sincerely hope that the Australian Government is able to bring them safely home.

Please take care and ensure that the guidance you are following is from a reliable source. There is a lot of misinformation on the internet.

And finally, some toilet humour to brighten your day!
