PMRA representatives attended a Mandurah Matters cruise in November to comment on what

matters most to us about Mandurah now and in the future. The City has distilled all the feedback from Stage One into 4 common themes:
Social ~ Economic ~ Environmental Health
The next step is to explore these themes in more detail at facilitated think tank sessions. These are open to all and we are encouraged to get involved.
To book your spot for one or more of these sessions please click here.

Save the Date for our AGM
PMRA's Annual General Meeting will be held on the evening of Thursday 14th March at MOFSC. There will be a complimentary drink upon arrival, then a quick meeting followed by a special guest speaker. Afterwards you have the opportunity to dine in the galley restaurant at your own expense. Contact MOFSC if you'd like to make a booking for dinner.

Reporting a non-compliant marine vessel
The Department of Transport (Marine Safety) have produced an updated report form should you wish them to investigate an offending vessel.
If formal reporting is not for you, consider naming and shaming on the Eyes on the Water Peel facebook page which was set up in consultation with the Water Police. Their advice is to consider your own safety before taking any photos.

Tragedy Averted
Mandurah’s boating community is being asked to ‘log on’ before heading out to sea after two stranded divers were dramatically rescued from the water recently and a tragedy was averted. Read more here courtesy of the Mandurah Mail.

Biosecurity alert - Asian paddle crab update
Crabbers are reminded to stay on the lookout after an Asian paddle crab was found in the Swan River last month.
This invasive pest has recently encroached on New Zealand’s marine life, eating shellfish, small crustaceans, and competing with New Zealand’s native crabs for habitat and food.
Check out this facebook post for how to spot and report the pest.

CCTV Cameras on Mandurah Bridge
The PMRA Committee first called for pedestrian safety cameras on the bridge way back during the design phase, so we're delighted that a total of 10 cameras have been installed and are operational on the footpath on the new Mandurah Bridge.
For more information about these and other upgrades in Mandurah please click here for news from Cr. Peter Rogers.

Christmas is over but...
We'd like to thank everyone involved in Santa Afloat on Christmas Eve; the organisers, the lolly buyers, packers and sponsors, the barbecue host and helpers, the 3 boat skippers, the 3 Santas and all their assistants. Visit our facebook page for a 20 second video courtesy of Mia Lacy.
We are very grateful to all the volunteers that help PMRA throughout the year.
