Mosquito Management
For the City of Mandurah report for 2017-2018 please click here.

"The outlook for the remainder of season 2018/19 is indicating a return to ENSO -neutral followed by El Niño conditions by late 2018 and into the at least the first half of 2019. Based on the experiences of past seasons when El Niño events have been active, a season of fewer tidal inundation, hatching events and intervention by the program is likely to occur."

Northern Entrance to Port Mandurah

Mariners are advised that sand dredging works inside the northern entrance to the Port Mandurah Canals will commence in November 2018 and proceed until mid-December 2018.
Dredging will occur on Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am and 6pm.
The works will be carried out by the cutter suction dredge “Swan V” which has no self-propulsion and uses anchors to move, a 50 metre floating pipeline is connected to the stern of the dredge which is marked by orange buoys equipped with rhythmic orange lights operating at night.
For the duration of the works the dredge and pipeline will remain in the area of operation after normal operating hours.
When traversing the area mariners are requested to contact the dredge operators who will be monitoring the following radio frequencies:
VHF Channel 12 or Marine 27 MHz Channel 90.

The dredge will exhibit shapes and lights in accordance with the Prevention of Collision at Sea Regulations 1983 at all times.
Mariners are advised to reduce wash, navigate with caution and keep well clear of the above operations when transiting the area.
